JULIA GORIN and LAUTARO CANCELA will be in Sacramento from February 24 through March 10, 2025! These professional dancers, teachers and choreographers (Lautaro is also an official judge of Mundial Tango in Buenos Aires, in both categories: pista & stage). They teach and perform all over the globe, and we are happy to have them here in Sacramento from February 24 to March 10, 2025!

Topic for Thursdays: "Interesting Combinations with Sacadas, Barridas, Boleos, and Ganchos -- with the change of dynamic, explained and practiced part by part." Lautaro Cancela and Julia Gorin are outstanding tango dancers, teachers and choreographers with an extensive tango trajectory of over 30 and 25 years respectively.

JULIA GORIN

dancing tango since 2000;
studied music (piano) and classical and modern ballet since 1980;
the founder of the Argentine Tango community in Cyprus in 2001;
member of AMBCTA - the Asociación de Maestros Bailarines y Coreógrafos de Tango Argentino (Association of the Professional Teachers, Dancers and Choreographers of Argentine Tango);
creator of her own method of teaching Tango “JG TANGO Method”, which is based on body consiousness and the logic of movement, incorporating all the authentic tradition of Argentine Tango and the knowledge of kinesthetic teachings.
organizer of one of the first online world-wide Tango Projects - TANGO EXERCISE MARATHON (1st and 2nd editions);
creator of the global online project LIBERTANGO – united argentine tango and folklore dancers from different countries in the special choreography, prepared by Julia Gorin;
creator and one of the main dancers of the show “RELATOS DE INMIGRANTES” (“STORIES OF IMMIGRANTS”) - The extraordinary New Tango Theatre production, with an original script, superb choreography

LAUTARO CANCELA

dancing tango since 1990;
lead dancer in the show of the iconic Julio Bocca “Bocca Tango Maipo” in 2001;
lead dancer in renowned companies such as "Tanguera", "Tango x 2", "Tramatango", and the Hernán Piquín Company;
been honored with the Diploma of Honor for the "best dance couple" and the "Pa'que bailen los niños" Award, declared of cultural interest by the Secretary of Culture of the Presidency of the Nation in 2018;
His show "Otoño tango", a masterful fusion of tango, theater and dance, has been a project that he has directed, produced and performed with great success during several seasons on the “broadway” of Buenos Aires – “calle Corrientes”.
Higher Diploma in "Cultural Mediation" awarded by CLASCO in 2020;
Postgraduate Degree in Cultural Management and Communication awarded by FLACSO in 2021;
member of AMBCTA - the Asociación de Maestros Bailarines y Coreógrafos de Tango Argentino (Association of the Professional Teachers, Dancers and Choreographers of Argentine Tango);
